How to Reach Awazon Market When Tor Is Blocked

What bridges are

A bridge is a special Tor node that acts as a gateway into the network. Regular Tor nodes are public and often blocked by censorship systems. Bridges are private and hidden from the general list of relays. When your local network blocks standard Tor entry nodes, a bridge allows you to connect. Think of it as a back door. You do not announce where it is located. Only people with the specific bridge address can use it. This makes blocking difficult for censors who do not know which IPs to target.

When you need one

You need a bridge if Tor Browser shows "Trying to connect" for more than five minutes. Or if you receive a "Tor was unable to establish a circuit" error. This is common in regions with heavy internet filtering, such as parts of Asia and the Middle East. If you are in a country with free internet, you probably do not need a bridge. Standard relays work fine. Try connecting without one first. Only switch to bridges if the default method fails consistently. Do not force bridge usage if it is unnecessary. It adds complexity without benefit.

Finding and configuring bridges

Get bridge addresses from the Tor Project website. They offer three types. Pluggable transports, obfs4, and snowflake. Snowflake is easiest to set up. It uses WebRTC protocols that mimic video calls. Open Tor Browser settings, tap Advanced, then Network Settings. Enable Use Bridge. Paste the provided string. Do not include line breaks. Copy the entire block. If one bridge fails, try another. You can add up to three bridges in the settings field. Rotate them weekly to prevent saturation. A saturated bridge slows down your entire connection significantly.

Limits and expectations

Bridges are community-run resources. They have limited bandwidth. During peak hours, speeds drop drastically. Do not expect fast loading times. Patience is required. Some bridges expire quickly. Check for updates monthly. If all your bridges stop working, generate a new set. Never reuse old ones if they are publicly known. Security depends on the secrecy of the bridge address. Treat it like a password. Share it only with trusted devices.
